Anglo Potash Ltd. ("Anglo Potash") is a junior potash company that is focused on exploring for and developing Saskatchewan's first greenfield (new) potash mine in almost 40 years. Our company is headed by president and CEO, Todd Montgomery, who was instrumental in putting together one of the world's largest landholdings prospective for potash and partnering with BHP Billiton, the world's largest diversified mining company. The Anglo Potash/BHP Billiton joint venture covers all current and future acquired permitable potash land in Saskatchewan and is split with Anglo Potash owning 25% and BHP Billiton owning 75%. BHP Billiton is the operator of the joint venture.
Investor Proposition:
- Agriculture Super Cycle: Anglo Potash is a pure potash play that may not yet produce potash, of which around 95% is used as a fertilizer in the agriculture industry, but is extremely focused on developing its large and potentially very valuable potash asset. Therefore, since potash is mostly used as fertilizer in the agriculture industry, investing in Anglo Potash is an investment in the agriculture super cycle.
- Enormous Potash Resource Potential: Through its joint venture with BHP Billiton, Anglo Potash owns a share of one of the world's largest permitable potash landholdings, which could be a huge resource that has potential for considerable value as the global demand for potash increases.
- Key Partner: It's significant that Anglo Potash partnered with BHP Billiton, because there is no company out there that has more mining expertise then BHP Billiton - they have developed mines on every continent on earth, and they are extremely focused on developing a potash mine. BHP Billiton provides not only the mining expertise and capital to develop a potash mine, but the global network to get product to market.
- Strong Cash Position: Anglo Potash had a cash position as of December 31, 2007 of around $7.1 million (CAD). This is a large number when you consider that the company has a very low cash burn rate. For the project, the joint venture agreement with BHP Billiton carries Anglo Potash for all operating costs until a bankable feasibility study is completed, which is expected to be before the end of 2011, or until BHP Billiton spends $40 million (USD), which ever comes first.
- Management Expertise and Track Record: Todd Montgomery has an impressive track record in developing grass roots resource projects.
